MLX Companion — Privacy Policy

MLX Companion is a remote client for MLX Studio on your Mac. The app does not run AI models on your iPhone. Inference, media generation, and file storage happen on your Mac when you pair the devices.

Data we collect

• On your iPhone: pairing credentials (device token) stored in the iOS Keychain; optional widget snapshot (Mac status, RAM, last job title) in an App Group shared only with the MLX Companion widget extension.
• On your Mac: MLX Studio stores chat sessions, link pairing, and activity logs locally under your user account.
• MLX Link relay (optional): when you use remote access outside your home network, API requests are routed through the MLX Link relay you configure. Message content is not intentionally logged for analytics; relay telemetry records method, path, status, and latency only.

Data we do not collect

• No advertising identifiers or third-party ad tracking.
• No sale of personal data.
• No on-device model training.

Network

On your local network, the app may use Bonjour to discover your Mac. Over the internet, connections use HTTPS/WSS to your MLX Link relay or direct LAN when available.
